The building dates back to mid 19th century and stands 0.3 km from Shamian Island, a State Cultural and Historical Protectorate. The hotel is located on Shamian Island, which is surrounded by the Pearl River. Here, many ancient European style buildings built by British and French settlements displays the island’s rich history dating back to the early 20th century.

Within walking distance is the shopping centre, grocery stores, restaurants, medical facilities, tennis courts and nightlife.

Besides several consulates, the hotel is also close to the following places:

Guangdong Victory Hotel was a nice older hotel with great rooms. Our stay was very comfortable and the staff very helpful. Shamian Island is a great slice of history and the Victory Hotel allows one to be immersed in that history without giving up modern conveniences .
